GoSew Collective

Many of you may not know that I opened a new business in Golden, Colorado. I wanted a place to teach sewing classes, have shared sewing space and to offer fabrics and trims and supplies at thrift store prices. So I moved my little workspace down into the huge basement in the same building I was already in. And now I can do all those things.

The GoSew Collective is a membership based shared workspace. You can buy a day pass membership or a monthly membership. Membership allows you to use the cutting and worktables, variety of different sewing machines, and use free or inexpensive materials that we have on hand here.

There is a monthly sewing circle open to the public. You can bring any project to work on…sewing, knitting, crochet, embroidery, cross stitch or whatever you might want to finish or just share with others.

In addition, we have many classes on the schedule every month. And some demonstrations of techniques or software related to sewing and crafts.

We have a lovely lounge that has a design library, comfy couches and chairs, a coffee machine and microwave. We also have WiFi available.

So I hope some of you will come visit us here in Golden, a lovely little place nestled in the foothills and just 25 minutes from Denver. And if you want to be on the mailing list for the Collective, go check out the website and sign up for the newsletter!

Measurements Workshop!

Many new stitchers don’t always understand the importance of detailed measurements for a well fitting garment. You can take basic measurements & get a fairly decent fit, or you can take a very detailed set of measurements for a perfect fit every time. This becomes especially important when you’ve had changes in the body due to age or injury. A lot of us just have strange proportions that don’t seem to line up with a typical sewing pattern or off the rack garments.

So, I’m offering a workshop on proper measurements. This workshop will demystify all of this for you & give you an opportunity to leave class with your own measurements in hand, ready to get started on your next sewing project! Limited seating. So get registered TODAY!

Intro to Freemotion Embroidery

If you have ever wanted to wander into the realm of thread painting with your sewing machine, then you will love this class I am offering! Freemotion embroidery gives you a lot of artistic freedom to embellish clothing, quilts or even just embroider a name on a hat or a baby blanket…without having to own an embroidery machine. It’s a really fun way to decorate boring clothing or give a tote bag a little extra pop. Check the shop link above for the class. I only have a few of them scheduled and space is limited. Hope to see you soon!

New Studio In Golden, Colorado

I recently returned to Colorado after being gone since 2019. I had moved back to California to care for my Grandmother, then I bought a bus in 2022 when my caregiver duties had come to an end. I traveled a bit, saw some friends, spent some time in New Mexico, worked a couple of Renaissance Festival’s & then returned to Colorado this year. I recently rented a studio space in Golden where I’ll be offering classes and community sewing events. I am also hoping to build a makers & sellers community in support of one another and would love to hear from you all.
